Imbala Jarjum Live!

Accompanied by live music on the didgeridoo Imbala Jarjum dancers interpret stories drawn from Australia’s diverse
Aboriginal culture including the Peramangk Aboriginal people of the Adelaide Hills.  Take an in depth look into the past,
learn the significance of Kaya the Spear and see how Waruji the Emu was imitated. Enjoy a cultural experience
through music and traditional Aboriginal dance with Imbala Jarjum Live
Sand Art

Learn the history of sand art or rather the art of creating designs on sand in this fun interactive workshop that fuses a
traditional concept with contemporary influences.  Participants use a combination of coloured sand to fill in pre-drawn
designs depicting Australian animals or dreaming stories on a small canvas.  Take home your own piece of sand art!
Boomerang Art

Bring your artistic flair to this workshop and paint your very own
Boomerang.  Each workshop will include the use of symbols and a
variety of other painting techniques to illustrate the diversity of
Aboriginal culture.

Totem poles, Mimi spirits and carvings from the Far North, goannas, birds and snakes mix readily with Batik silks and painted jewellry from the Central Desert all contributing to the gallery's unique atmosphere.
